Go Run Foundation was born from the heart of Douglas Nicaragua, a passionate runner with more than 30 years of experience. Originally from Nicaragua, Douglas came to the U.S. at the age of 9. From a young age, he found a source of strength in running, forging his determination and love for sports. This same dedication drives him today to support children, providing them with the opportunities and support that he desired in his childhood.

With more than 20 years in sports event management, Douglas founded Go Run Foundation in 2016 with a simple but impactful goal: to show that something as basic as a pair of shoes can change a child’s life, helping them overcome obstacles and aspire to a better future.

For Douglas, running is more than exercise; it is a way to overcome adversity. That vision led him to create Go Run Foundation, using running to inspire and empower children, providing them with the resources and support they need. Since its creation, it has positively impacted the lives of hundreds of children. From its headquarters in South Florida, Go Run Foundation organizes races that build a community united by a greater purpose. At Go Run, it’s about running with purpose, where every step is an opportunity to make a difference and leave an inspiring legacy.
